About RSI
Created by individuals with refrigeration and air conditioning backgrounds, RSI has a reputation for excellent education and service. Recently, RSI was named a 2006 School of Distinction by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology.
The Refrigeration School, Inc. started in Phoenix, Arizona in 1965 to meet the growing need for high quality education and training of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technicians. In response to a growing demand for entry-level electricians, RSI added the Electrical Technologies course in 1986 and the Electro-Mechanical Technologies course in 1987.
In 1992, The Refrigeration School, Inc. created an Associate of Occupational Studies degree for students interested in combining traditional HVACR and electrical training. The associate degree program quickly became the school's most popular offering because of the employer demand for well-rounded graduates.
The RSI campus includes two buildings with 21,000 square feet of classroom, lab, and support service facilities. An additional 5,400 square feet of outdoor shop area brings the total to over 26,000 square feet of training facilities.
Conveniently accessible to all parts of the Phoenix metropolitan area, RSI
has close ties to local companies and area businesses and is a member of
the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, Air Conditioning Contractors of Arizona
and Refrigeration Service Engineers Society.
The Refrigeration School, Inc is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of
Career Schools and Colleges of Technology. RSI also holds licenses to operate
from the Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education and is a
Member of the Arizona Private School Association.
The Arizona Department of Veterans' Services also approved RSI for the training
of veterans.
The mission of the Refrigeration School, Inc. is to assist adult learners in development of the skills and knowledge necessary, and to support their personal goals, for employment and professional growth in the HVAC/R and Electrical Technologies fields.
